Life Goes On

I think this November went by the fastest on record. We celebrated Czar's birthday. He had a spiderman carrot cake with green frosting and too much help opening his presents, but I think he enjoyed it.

We had a great Thanksgiving meal with friends from church. I made stuffed mushrooms, ham, and fruit salad. The stuffed mushrooms were a hit, so here's my mom's recipe.

Stuffed Mushrooms

about 12 mushroom caps (1 small package)

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 C Italian bread crumbs

1/4 C grated mozerella cheese

1 tsp. parsley flakes

salt and pepper to taste

3 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese

1/3 C melted butter

Wash and core mushrooms. Toss all ingredients together, fill mushrooms. Bake in 450 oven for 10-15 minutes. ( I don't bake it, I microwave it on high for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted, I also used smart balance instead of butter.) They are so yummy and easy to make. Sorry no pictures because my camera only works if it's plugged in, hopefully I will get a new one for Christmas.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, thanks to Keri for hosting us! Unfortunately, Thanksgiving was the day we learned that our little 5 year old friend at church was sick in the hospital. Friday the older kids and I went to visit him and we hope for the best for him and his family. Friday evening we went minature golfing with Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Kevin, and Teddy. On Saturday I got some more bad news when I learned a good friend of mine had her second miscarriage, so I went to visit her and we consoled each other. Saturday evening we had friends over to decorate Christmas cookies which was tons of fun, but not good for me losing weight, oh well I guess I work out more this week. We had a great Thanksgiving, and spent lots of time with family and friends, I'm so grateful for friends, family, and our savior Jesus Christ.

Looks like fun! I remember you making stuffed mushrooms freshmen year. I think. Or maybe it was stuffed green peppers.

Kristen, thanks so much for sharing your Thanksgiving. We missed you so much, but it helps a little to see the pictures and know you had a wonderful time there. We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving here. It was so great to see those who could come. Hope we get to see you at some point over Christmas. Love, Dad.
